Overview

Klaas Sybranda is co-founder of Intouch Technology. Klaas is in charge of systems and business development. Much of the original documentation and publicity for Intouch was of his devising and Klaas continues to have an active part in guiding the 'look and feel' of Intouch.

In the early days Klaas project managed many of the larger ticketing installations undertaken at the time.

Klaas founded Intouch USA Inc. in 1996 and is still focused much of the time directing the North Amercian and European operations and opportunties for the company, ilcuding responsibility for the Intouch Data Center in Santa Barbara, California and Intouch's foray in payment processing.

Career History

Klaas attended Univerity of Western Australia, Claremont studying an arts degree and diploma of education. After a few years working in various sales and marketing positions he started an advertising agency. Clients initially included shopping centres, car dealerships and plant nurseries requiring merchandising. In the early 80's the agency created W.A's first buy and sell magazine, Auto Shopper. Klaas specialized in corporate image design, annual reports and exhibition displays.

From 1986, living in North East, Victoria, Klaas's time was focused on business interests in desktop publishing, a computer retailing operation and a restaurant.

In 1991 Klaas met Chris Heberle and found they shared a mutual interest in business systems development. Their frequent meetings and discussions about the right development tools led to the creation of a POS system for The Grainery Restaurant.

By 1993 the success of this casual collaboration led to the formation of Intouch Technology and a contract to develop and install a ticketing system at Falls Creek Ski Resort, Victoria, Australia.

Personal Information

Klaas was born in the Netherlands and emigrated to Perth, Western Australia as a child. His high school years were spent in the coastal town of Bunbury spending his youth by the sea nurtured his love for surfing and sailing. He resides part of the year in Perth, Western Australia and travels often on Intouch projects overseas including part of the year at the Intouch office in Wilmington, Vermont.
